ELIS project in collaboration with Bac Ninh Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs organized a training course on “Rehabilitation Techniques for Social Workers” in some local area. It was performed by Prof. Lorenzo Pierdomenico – Italian health expert and professor, Dr. Cao Minh Chau, head of functional rehabilitation of Hanoi Medical University and Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao, director of the Center for Inclusive Education and rehabilitation Vina Health.
During 10 days, participants have access to the following specific topics: Disability and Rehabilitation Process; Methods for identifying people with disabilities; Rehabilitation for disable people; Management of people with disabilities in the community; Discuss how to implement community-based rehabilitation. The training provided information on the types of disabilities, functional impairments, signs and early detection for early intervention for people with disabilities, especially in children and the difficulties encountered. Management, communication and education community help to change attitudes and behaviors for people with disabilities.
Social workers and collaborators highly appreciated the content of the training. Officials said that it was necessary and urgent to provide information and knowledge for social workers to help them in the local area. Collaborators recognized the importance and the role of Rehabilitation based on the community from which plans can be developed suitably for each patient, each locality.
