On March 14th, the Elis Center Association in collaboration with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs awarded scholarships for 360 excellent students, totaling 18,000 euros (worth over 500 million VND). Attending the ceremony were Mr. Carlo CiBo, Elis Senior Project Coordinator in Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

360 scholarships were awarded to students in difficult circumstances but achieved outstanding achievements at Bac Ninh Industry College, Bac Ninh Vocational College of Electrical Engineering and Construction, Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Center Capacity for disabled people in Bac Ninh. Each scholarship is worth 50 euros (about 1.4 million).

Elis Association is a non-profit education organization of Italy. With 50 years of experience in the field of education and training, ELIS present in Vietnam for 15 years. In 2016, the project “Strengthening employment opportunities for the youth through school-enterprise linkage in Bac Ninh Province” funded by the Elis-Italia Center was decided and deployed by the provincial People’s Committee. The goal of the project is to enhance employment for the youth of the province; reduce unemployment through the development of the school-business linkage model; supply and demand for vocational training and employment in the locality; support facilities, training textbooks …
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phong appreciated and recognized the results that the project has brought to the students in the past few years. In 2017, 100% of students and graduates of the three schools had jobs. To reach the goal of becoming the central city by 2022, the vocational training and job creation for young people are very important. This requires schools to work more closely with the Elis Association, also helps the province to implement projects with high efficiency. In addition to vocational training, schools should pay attention to ethics, responsibility, working style of students. And we strongly hope ELIS will continue investing and facilitating the project beneficiaries.
